Community Anchor Circle

In times gone by, a ship’s anchor was actually a large heavy rock. While the rock evolved into the metal anchor we know today, the anchor has always been counted on to stabilize a vessel. Lyrics in The Anchor Holds express its importance:

“The anchor holds, though the ship is battered;
the anchor holds, in spite of the storm.”

The Sailing Center is secured and stabilized by annual gifts of significance that demonstrate a strong commitment to our mission. These gifts make a significant impact on our ability to offer high-quality programming, innovative educational programs and community outreach. They help anchor us against unexpected storms, not unlike those that battered Vermont at the start and end of this summer season.

The importance of these gifts has compelled the Board of Directors to create the Community Anchor Circle, through which we can honor and express our appreciation for those who provide critical support. The members of this distinguished group, who make annual gifts of $1,000 and above, help, ensure a bright future for the Sailing Center. The charter members of the Community Anchor Circle will receive a number of benefits and privileges including an exclusive invitation to the 1st annual Community Anchor Circle Reception (March 2012), acknowledgement in the annual report, and subscription to the Program & Events Guide, Newsletter, and other publications.
