‘05 Hunter 170 with Venture Trailer – $5000
Looking for a starter boat with a reasonable price? Something small enough to learn on, but with a roomy enough cockpit for a few guests? This Hunter 170 is easy to tow, rig and launch, and is a blast to sail. Beginner or seasoned sailor alike will both appreciate the simplified rig with a large main and small jib. Seating for six is no problem with its wide-open and uncluttered cockpit. The open transom design provides great access for swimming or boarding. This boat is very light and carries a fair amount of sail, so it heels quickly, but a wide beam will keep you stable. It will sail in a whisper of wind, yet handle well when the wind picks up.
