Play on the Lake at the Community Sailing Center!
Burlington, VT – Lake Champlain is an exceptional treasure for the Burlington region. The Community Sailing Center makes it possible for us all, our neighbors and our visitors, to enjoy its natural beauty and the recreational opportunities it offers. This summer Community Sailing Center is offering many exciting new programs to encourage everyone to Play on the Lake.
- Yoga on the Dock : Begin your day with rejuvenating Kripalu yoga! In partnership with Evolution Yoga, we are offering two 6-week series of morning yoga. Pre-register to reserve your space in the class, or you may drop in to class whenever your schedule allows. To register, go to www.evolutionvt.com, or you may call 802.864.9642.
- Eco- Sails: Interest in the ecology of Lake Champlain? This package includes day passes to ECHO and an afternoon on the Lake learning to sail. Both activities will teach you ecology facts on the Lake’s geology, species, and stewardship. Info and reservations: echovermont.org, 877-324-6386 ext. 4, or at ECHO’s Front Desk.
- Paddleboarding: Get fit and enjoy the Lake from a higher vantage point with a weekly Paddleboarding Class. In partnership with Stormboarding, this new sport allows you stand on a large and floating surfboard and paddle around the lake. All levels of experience and all levels of fitness welcome. - Kayak Clinics: In partnership with Canoe Imports, this is a great first step to learning about kayaking. The class, taught in recreational kayaks, offers the stability new paddlers need. We will learn about carrying kayaks, launching and getting out of our kayaks, basic paddling strokes and maneuvering our craft. This is a great way to jump start your paddling. The Community Sailing Center has established community partnerships with ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center, Evolution Yoga, Stormboarding, and Canoe Imports to offer Play on the Lake programs.
The Community Sailing Center is a community based 501(c) (3) organization that encourages and celebrates the responsible use and long-term stewardship of Lake Champlain by fostering educational and recreational opportunities for all members of our community.
