Corparate Programs

Full Day Retreat

Sailing inspires people to take matters into their own hands, promotes self-confidence and empowerment, and helps create lasting bonds and a better sense of community amongst colleagues. Our sailing instructors will work with your staff, using sailing as a framework for developing the group skills needed in any business or organization:

  • Sailing requires people to work together to achieve common goals while staying strong as individuals.
  • Not only will you each need to operate autonomously and take the initiative to fulfill your personal responsibilities on board the sailboat, you will all also have to be able to listen to your fellow crew members and take direction from them as well.
  • While doing this you will constantly need to adapt to the changing conditions of the Lake.

After an introduction to sailing in the morning, your staff will head back out onto the water in the afternoon for a group challenge; whether it be navigating a set course on the lake, or racing against each other in your own personal regatta, our instructors will step back while you take the helm, organize the crew, and work together to succeed.

Half Day Retreat

Start your day off right by learning how to rig and sail our dinghies or keelboats. As with the full-day retreat, our instructors will guide your team through the process of working together to form a cohesive crew that can successfully navigate the challenges of sailing while maintaining clear, constructive, and positive communication.

Leisurely Sunset Sail or Paddle

This is the most casual type of outing that we offer. Participants can spend the day learning to sail, or simply touring Lake Champlain on board our canoes, kayaks, or Stand Up Paddleboards. Employees and supervisors alike will soon forget the stress of work and will focus instead on the relaxing beauty of the lake around them. Combine sailing with a catered meal provided by one of our partners listed below, and you’ll have an event you are sure to remember.

Facilities and Partner Organizations

We have plenty of room to set up a volleyball net, play a game of kickball, or have a barbecue in the sun. Please feel free to bring whatever you need to enjoy the day.

Stand Up Paddleboarding

In addition to corporate retreats and boat rentals we are excited to announce a brand new sport at the Community Sailing Center: Stand-Up Paddleboarding. This exciting new sport is one of the fastest growing water recreation sports in the country. Stand-Up Paddleboarding is a fun way to experience the lake while toning your body at the same time. Paddling can focus on fun recreation or targeting specific muscle groups for a well balanced workout. We are hosting weekly paddleboard clinics on Wednesday nights from 6-8pm. In addition to the clinics paddleboards are also available for rental from 12-8pm Monday through Friday, and 9am-8pm on the weekends (based on availability). Come check out this exciting new sport and get out on the lake!
