For teambuilding, wellness, or just a lot of fun, the Community Sailing Center is the place to be.
Your business will experience the thrills of sailing and enjoy the benefits of on-water activities taught by certified US Sailing Instructors. Our programs are inclusive and require no previous experience or particular skill set in order to participate and feel comfortable.
Your team’s work on the water mirrors the skills utilized in your work place and daily life. Teamwork and communication are integral in the success of maneuvering a boat through the water. Participants establish positive relationships and develop a sense of respect for one another that they can bring back to the workplace. Charting a course and making it to the desired destination echos the process of goal setting while managing changing weather conditions improves problem solving skills. Everyone rotates through the various positions on the boat and strengthens their ability to transition easily between tasks or roles while back on land.
Program options are also available for paddle sports, offering an opportunity to explore the waterfront from one of our canoes, kayaks, or stand-up paddleboards.

½ Day Team-Building Session
Develop skills on the water that reverberate on land. The Community Sailing Center’s team-building experiences work with participants to develop communication, teamwork, and personal responsibility through the medium of sailing, all while getting a hands-on education in basic keelboat sailing. Teams can choose to finish off their session with a race around Burlington Bay!
Corporate Sailing League
There is no better way to connect with your co-workers than by racing small boats out on Lake Champlain! If you love to sail or work with an avid sailor, sign up your organization for 5 weeks of small boat racing. If no one in your company has ever sailed, fear not. You can catch up by taking one of our intro Learn to Sail Courses prior to the race series.
Prerequisites: One person on your team must attend the orientation day and pass the skipper’s test or have a sailing certification.
Experience stand up paddleboarding, a sport gaining tremendous popularity, or take advantage of our selection of canoes and kayaks. Our instructors teach the basics of launching and maneuvering whichever type of craft you’re interested in trying. Paddling is a great choice for anyone looking to see the lake from a whole new perspective. It’s easier than it looks!
Get ready for a day you will never forget!
Keelboat sails can include basic hands-on instruction or focus on relaxation through the simple pleasures of waves, sun, and the gentle rocking of a boat.
Try your hand at dinghy sailing and learn the intricacies of wind-powered boating. Schedule a multi-day program and gain the knowledge necessary to skipper a small boat. Alter your perspective; check out Burlington from Lake Champlain!
We are happy to work with you to design a program that meets the specific needs and schedules of your group.
