The Community Sailing Center would not be able to provide as many diverse programs as they do if it weren’t for the hard work, enthusiasm, and time donated by our team of volunteers. Joining our volunteer program is a great way to get involved at the Sailing Center and earn free rental hours! There is a lot of work to be done and volunteers do not need to have a great deal of sailing skills or experience to join.
Volunteer projects vary greatly, some projects include:
- Boat and Facility Maintenance and Upkeep
- Seasonal Preparation and Winterization
- Building Projects and Construction
- Open House and Special Events
- Community Outreach Events such as camp fairs and festivals
If you are interested in volunteering at the Community Sailing Center, please read through our Volunteer Program Factsheet.
We are now accepting registrations for the 2013 volunteer season! Please return the Volunteer Registration form to Nick Neverisky. Forms can be mailed to PO Box 64818, Burlington, VT 05401 or e-mailed to nick@communitysailingcenter.org
The Mates Program
Our mates program offers unlimited rentals and sailing lessons for the season. In exchange we ask that you devote a minimum of 40 hours of service to the Sailing Center and to attend a half day of training at the beginning of the season. As a mate, you will work in a group and on independent projects ranging from facility maintenance to community outreach. In return, you may enroll in a two day sailing class and rent available boats free of charge. This is a great way to meet new people, provide a valuable service to the center and get out on the lake this summer.
Thank you for your help!
