Join us as we kick off another incredible season on Lake Champlain. The Community Sailing Center is excited to welcome everyone back to the waterfront for a full day of celebration. Whether you’re a longtime lake lover or brand new to sailing, this event is for you.

$10 Sails | 12:00pm – 4:30pm

Registration required.

Set sail on Lake Champlain! Sails depart every hour from 12:00pm-4:30pm. Take a ride on Sail Beyond Cancer VT’s Tranquility, Whistling Man’s Wild Rose or our Sonars. Each boat seats 6 passengers. Spots will go quickly.

Ever wonder what a Coast Guard Boat looks like? Or seen an antique boat? We are excited to feature some awesome boats brought to you by our community partners. A few of our community partners are bringing their boats to show off during the event. Stop by our parking lot to view the many different boats that float on Lake Champlain!

Come Check out: the U.S. Coastguard’s boat, Lake Champlain Maritime Museum’s split rock dinghy and Cornish Pilot Gig, Lake Champlain Antique and Classic Boat Society’s Chris Craft and Lyman wooden boat.

Paint one of our 420 sails!

Grab a paintbrush and help bring a sail to life! Join us in painting one of our 420 sails! This hands-on, community-powered art project is open to all and celebrates creativity, connection, and our love for sailing.

 

 

Learn How to Tie Knots used to Sail!

Knot-tying goes hand in hand when sailing on the water. Learn the different ways we use knots on our boats – from tying a cleat knot, using a bowline , or fitting a figure 8. Try your hand at creating knots and win a prize!

 

Create Cork Boats with the Lake Champlain Antique and Classic Boat Society!

Always wanted to own your own sailboat? Now you can! Create and decorate your own sail boat while learning about the history of classic boats on Lake Champlain. Brought to you by the Lake Champlain Antique and Classic Boat Society.

 

 

 

Giant Lake Champlain Map with the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum!

Meet the biggest, coolest map – A Giant Map of Lake Champlain! An accurate and detailed 35′ x 25′ vinyl map of our watershed, the giant map is designed to be a spatial and geographical learning tool for everyone of all ages. By interacting with and learning on the map, people of all ages will learn how where they live is connected to the lake and be inspired to take care of Lake Champlain. Yoga on the Deck with the YMCA | 1:30pm – 2:30pm
