For teambuilding, wellness, or just a lot of fun, the Community Sailing Center is the place to be.

Design your own program for times when none of our ready-made opportunities seem to fit! We invite schools, businesses, community organizations, and groups of individuals to give us the chance to work together to build an unforgettable on-water experience.  Group programs can take place on our keelboats or on our fleet of paddlecraft. To tailor your program goals, we provide three different tracks to help your group grow as individuals and together and connect to the water with direct access to Lake Champlain.

Adult Programs

Lake Learners

Lake Learners become citizen scientists collecting water quality assessments from the decks of a keelboat, or naturalists identifying birds and learning about the waterfront from their kayak. With lessons tailored to your group’s interest and experience, Lake Learners investigate Burlington Bay with an experienced instructor.

Team Building

Work together to paddle through an obstacle course set by your instructor. Compete against each other in a sailboat race. Practice or learn map & compass skills to find a prize. Let us know if you want to be competitive or collaborative, and whether your group wants to stay dry or is ok getting a little wet. It’s up to you!

First Sail | First Paddle

Have you ever wanted to learn how to sail or paddle? Here is your chance! The sailing program is conducted on a keelboat and the paddle program can be on kayak or SUP.  This is a great way to get a taste for sailing or paddling with the support of a CSC instructor guiding you through your program.

Youth Programs

Lake Learners

Have you ever wondered what the bottom of the lake looks like? Lake Learners might paddle along the shore looking for fish, conduct water quality assessments from the decks of a keelboat, or sail out to the thrust fault at rock point. With lessons tailored to your group’s interest and experience, Lake Learners investigate Burlington Bay with an experienced instructor.

Leader Ship

Leader Ship activities use sail- and paddle-based challenges to encourage youth to define their voice and image. Programs start with goal-setting and end with reflection. In between youth might learn to right a flipped sailboat, work together to complete a kayak scavenger hunt, or experiment with ways to raft their SUPS in a perfect circle.

First Sail | First Paddle

Calling all novice sailors and paddlers!  A First Sail or First Paddle is the best program for groups looking to get out on the water and learn a little about sailing or paddling as they take in the sites of Burlington from the water.  Our instructors will lead your group through the basics to get everyone comfortable on our watercraft as you adventure around Burlington Bay.
